The papers of this prominent Philadelphia artist contain letters, postcards and telegrams from U.S. art museums, schools, and universities concerning subscriptions for a portfolio of her paintings. This correspondence is with some of the nation's major museums including the Corcoran Gallery of Art, the Society of Arts & Crafts, and the Art Institute of Chicago. The collection also contains a letter from Alice Paul of the National Woman's Party.

Quaker, lawyer, and lifelong activist for women's rights, Alice Paul was educated at Swarthmore and the University of Pennsylvania, where her doctoral dissertation was on the legal status of women in Pennsylvania. She later earned law degrees from Washington College of Law and American University.
